WHO IS DAYANI CRISTAL?

In the limitless and sunburned desert of Sonora, the Arizona Border Police has discovered the corpse of a man in decomposition. Under a ripped t-shirt, a tattoo is exposed: Dayani Cristal. Who is this man? What brought him here? How did he die? Who or what is “Dayani Cristal”? Following a team of people in Pima County, Arizona, the director Marc Silver tries to answer these questions, in order to give this man an identity. While the investigation continues, the Mexican actor and activist, Gael García Bernal, retraces the footsteps of the deceased, along the path of migrants in Central America. In an attempt to understand what he might have felt on his last journey, Gael García Bernal mingles with migrants in the upcoming mission to cross the border. He experiences at firsthand the dangers that they have to face, and learn from their motivations, their hopes and their fears.
