Juneco is a center for unaccompanied minors in the Flanders region in Belgium, with young people from Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Eritrea. They stay there until they turn 18, when those who have been granted asylum in Belgium can seek a home of their own. The others have an uncertain fate in a country where they are no longer welcome. Filmmaker Louisiana Mees-Fongang spent months in this small home, where there is a fragile balance between residents and caregivers. On the one hand, the home is full of hope and warmth; on the other, there are uncertainties and fears for the future.
