In 2011 a Harvard graduate, young nonconformist priest arrives in the parish od Saint Patrick, in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Father Paul O’Bries soon finds out that it is not easy to work towards social inclusion in a place characterised by strong tensions between the different ethnic groups, even more considering the working-class nature of the city. Realised in four years of filming, “Scenes from a parish” offers a unique view on the fight to conciliate faith and cultural diversity.
