#CHICAGO GIRLS – THE SOCIAL NETWORK TAKES ON A DICTATOR

Ala’a Basatneh, a 19 year-old student form the suburbs of Chicago, has been helping coordinating the Syrian revolution since 2011. She has promoted demonstrations and events on Facebook, marked ways of escape on Google Maps and uploaded a number of videos made by the protesters on the Internet. The film’s director follows both Ala’a Basatneh in the United States and her friends in Syria during some crucial months. The story of these young people is intertwined with the comments of a number of experts in the field in Syria, in a mixture of war, journalism and social media.
