Every day men, women and children coming from all over the world cross the Swiss border. After journeys that often prove to be life-threatening they are redirected towards one of the five centres of registration and identification. Vallorbe is one of them. In this austere transition area, living in a place that reminds a detention camp, people wait to know form the Swiss authorities what kind of fate they will face. “La forteresse” takes the viewer to the heart of the daily tragedy that many migrants experience.
