A three year-long journey inside the so-called “Calais forest”, a border land, a limbo where many migrants who want to reach the English shore are forced to stay. Denuded of any basic rights, treated like criminals and diminished to the state of “bare bodies” or “naked lives”, men and women become mere images of war. The director follows them with emotional involvement and anger, recording their behaviour as they try to look normal and to live with dignity although in a degenerate situation.
