The new students of Mister Zingg, in a language class of a school in Basilea, come from the four corners of the earth. These young people dream of a better future, and are now resting all their hopes on their new teacher, who has to show them the way in this new country. In two years of filming, the film shows the students learning Swiss culture and language. Mister Zingg has only one goal in his mind: to allow these young people, who have been traumatised by their life experiences, to find their place in society and to find a suitable job. However, the path is full of obstacles because the natives are not always welcoming towards the newcomers.
