Lisboetas

In today’s Lisbon thousands of people coming from Eastern European and African countries try to adjust to a new life they are forced to live in a yet unknown and hostile country. They are in a fight for survival, made up of searches for employment, Portuguese classes, phone calls home, days spent in the idleness forced by unemployment or oppressed by the humiliation brought on by working as a hucksters.
However, things can change even for these women and men. This film is unbiased and full of humanity, and is the greatest success for a documentary film in the history of Portuguese cinema.
